This is all because the game will no longer be released on Steam except for those who have already pre-ordered it on Valve's platform or those who are willing to wait a year for the Epic exclusivity to end, since the game will be released on Steam in February of 2020. As you may have heard, 4A Games and Deep Silver made the decision to release Metro Exodus exclusively via the Epic Store for PC players when it launches on February 15, something that Valve wasn't too pleased about, calling the decision "unfair" on players.
